Eating Disorder Therapy NYC

Nutrition Counseling

Individual nutrition counseling meets you where you are on your journey to recovery or your path to holistic health — but how do you know if it’s right for you?

No matter where you are or where you’re coming from, our one-on-one nutrition counseling is for you if:

  • You live with disordered eating and are looking for a trusted, judgment-free dietitian to walk alongside you as you heal your relationship with food.

  • You’ve heard a lot about intuitive eating, but you’re not sure where to begin or how it may fit into your lifestyle and nutrition goals.

  • You’re trying to manage or avoid a chronic condition and know you would benefit from medical nutrition therapy (MNT).

Individual Nutrition Counseling

Nourishing NY’s individual nutrition counseling offers personalized nutrition care designed to make sure that your individual nutritional needs are met holistically and with compassion.

Typical individual nutrition counseling includes:

  • One in-take session with a Nourishing NY Dietitian designed to review your medical history, do an initial nutrition assessment, and explore your relationship with food and body.

  • Ongoing 45-60-minute sessions to determine your individual needs and work toward your goals together.

  • Ongoing access to your Nourishing NY Dietitian via email.

Our sessions — offered in-person and virtually — are open to clients in the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) and are billed through in-network insurance companies to fit your needs. If we are not in-network with your insurance, we offer self-pay options. Additionally, we accept HSA and FSA cards.

“Courtney has helped me out tremendously in overcoming body dysmorphia and stress-eating. With her guidance, I have transitioned from being too calorie-focused to go to restaurants with friends/family, towards eating a more relaxed diet of mostly whole foods. I can now recognize my cycles of negative self-talk for what they are, and instead of blindly following them, I have learned coping skills to stay grounded. While the main focus of our discussions were related to diet and exercise, I believe Courtney’s guidance has also benefited me in unrelated areas of my life.”

“From my first intro phone call with Mia, I immediately felt understood and hopeful for the first time in my life. I didn’t feel like I was being judged or looked down upon for these behaviors I saw as failures; instead, I felt comfortable and safe talking about my struggles. Mia helped come up with a plan that worked best for me. Not only coming up with nutritious meals and snacks that I enjoyed but also providing me with strategies and coping mechanisms to deal with my fear around foods. I am so happy to say that I feel like I have just started a new chapter in my life that doesn’t revolve around food, but actually living my life. I am able to go to social events and hang out with friends without fearing what food is going to be there or what my body is going to look like.”
